Lately, some devices have been experiencing an issue where messages are successfully sent but return a state 0. This state prevents the message from being delivered to the target.
Status vs. State
- Status: Sent This means the WhatsApp server has received the request and successfully processed the message on their end.
- State: 0 This means the target did not receive the message due to WhatsApp’s message restrictions or rate limits.
Common Triggers
This issue usually occurs when the WhatsApp number is:
- Reaching Sending Limits: The account has hit a specific volume threshold (the exact limit is currently unknown).
- Recently Reinstated: The number was previously banned or restricted and has just been restored.
- New Number: The account is fresh and hasn't established enough "trust" or history with WhatsApp.
The "Reach-out Time-lock"
WhatsApp has recently introduced a Reach-out Time-lock as they prepare to launch a quota system for sending new messages or initiating calls.
Important Note: If your number is affected by this time-lock, there is unfortunately nothing we can do from the Fonnte side at this moment. We have not yet found a technical workaround for this server-side restriction.
Current Solution
Change the Number: Since this restriction is applied per specific phone number, the only definitive solution is to switch the connected WhatsApp account. You can change your connected number at any time.
Blue Tick Verification (?): We do not currently have information on whether subscribing to a "Blue Tick" (Meta Verified) resolves this issue. If you have tested this, please let us know.
